All applicants must rigorously follow the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India's (ICAI) 2026 CA Final Eligibility Criteria. Before completing the exam form, candidates who intend to apply for the CA Final exam are recommended to carefully review the eligibility requirements in order to prevent any issues down the road.
Only applicants who have successfully completed the CA Intermediate level are permitted to sit for the CA Final test, according the criteria.

The updated ICAI scheme will be used to administer the 2026 CA Final Exams. Candidates must thus make sure that the eligibility standards specified in this revised framework are met. Three times a year, the ICAI administers the CA Final, the last and most difficult exam in the Chartered Accountancy program.

CA Final Eligibility Criteria 2026

To be eligible to appear for the Chartered Accountants (CA) Final Examination scheduled for September 2026, candidates must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The key requirements are outlined below:

Articleship Training Requirement

The following requirements pertaining to articleships must be met by candidates:

  • Completion of Three Years of Articleship: Candidates must have finished the required three years of articleship training by the deadline for submitting the application for the CA Final test.
  • Finalization by August 31, 2026: Individuals who have not finished their articleship by the application deadline must make sure that the full training period—including any unused time off—is finished by August 31, 2026.
  • Final Six Months of Articleship: By February 28, 2026, candidates who are in their last six months of articleship as of September 1, 2026, must have finished the entire three-year training period, including any unused leave. Candidates from the Intermediate, IPCC, or IIPCE streams are subject to this requirement.

Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS)

To be eligible for the CA Final test in September 2026, you must complete the Advanced ICITSS.
According to Regulation 31(ii), applicants who have moved from the Final (Old Course) to the Final (New Course) and have taken the Final (Old Course) exam at least once are exempt from taking the Advanced ICITSS before taking the exam in September 2026. Prior to submitting an application for ICAI membership, these candidates still need to finish the course.

CA Final Registration 2026

The CA Final exam is offered for registration all year round. The validity period is ten years after registration. Candidates have the option to extend their registration for an additional ten years after this time. Interestingly, CA Final registration has no set deadlines. Candidates should, however, wait at least six months between finishing their hands-on training and sitting for the test. Candidates must fill out the CA Final exam form online in order to take the test. This application form must be completed by anyone planning to take the test.
