CA Foundation Accounting 2026-27 Preparation Strategy

You may cover the curriculum and make effective revisions more easily if you use an organized approach. Divide your preparation into concepts, practical questions, and revision rather than studying each chapter in the same way.

1. Build Your Concepts First

The Accounting Process and Theoretical Framework should come first. Before going on to more sophisticated chapters, familiarize yourself with accounting ideas, principles, journal entries, ledgers, and trial balances.

2. Practise Numerical Topics

Practice bank reconciliation statements, inventories, bills of exchange, final accounts, depreciation, and amortization on a regular basis. Instead of just reading solved examples, concentrate on answering questions.

3. Focus on Partnership and Company Accounts

Practice goodwill, admittance, retirement, death, and dissolution under partnership accounts after solidifying the fundamentals. Next, use corporate accounts to handle shares, debentures, forfeiture, reissue, and redemption.

4. Maintain a Mistake Log

Keep track of the mistakes you make when answering questions. Alongside each error, note the appropriate course of action, and make frequent revisions to this list.

5. Revise Through Mixed Practice

After finishing the syllabus, stop focusing solely on studying individual chapters. Assess your ability to independently determine the appropriate accounting treatment by answering mixed questions from several subjects.

6. Practise Under Time Limits

Complete practice papers in a set amount of time during the last round of preparation. Examine the questions where you took too long or lost points.
Accounting concepts, accounting procedures, financial statements, partnership accounts, and company accounts are all covered in the CA Foundation Accounting 2026–2027 syllabus. You can move from basic ideas to more complex accounting applications thanks to the two-module layout.
Start with the fundamentals and deepen your comprehension of trial balance, ledgers, and journal entries. Next, proceed to the company accounts, partnership and LLP accounts, and final accounts. You can prepare each section of the curriculum in a methodical way with regular practice, review, and error analysis.
